Young people trained in EV technology are assembling the first 200 of 500 solar-powered Keke tricycles at a centre in Katsina.

First batch in assembly
In June 2026 Governor Radda inspected the assembly centre for the state's 500 Solar-Powered Electric Tricycles initiative. The first batch of 200 was being assembled.
Two batches of young people from across the state have been trained in electric-vehicle technology, assembly and maintenance, and are now doing the assembly work themselves. The scheme sits within the state's clean-transport drive alongside the CNG station and hybrid buses.
