Local-first recruitment policy for NGOs and development partners

NGOs and international organisations working in Katsina must follow fair, transparent hiring that prioritises qualified citizens and residents of the state.

In February 2026 the State Executive Council approved a Recruitment Policy for INGOs and NGOs, presented by the Katsina State Development Management Board.

It promotes equitable and inclusive recruitment that prioritises qualified citizens and residents of Katsina State, ensures transparency in employment, and requires all local and international organisations to coordinate with the Development Management Board. At the same meeting the council approved a Peace-Building Committee and a 500 kWp solar array with 2 MWh of battery storage for public buildings.
