Katsina's first Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs
A dedicated ministry now coordinates strategy, intelligence and joint operations with federal security agencies.
Early in the administration, the government created the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs (MISHA), the first Katsina institution devoted solely to internal security. It coordinates strategy, intelligence sharing, rapid threat assessment and crisis response with conventional security agencies.
A State Security Council Advisory Committee of traditional, community and religious leaders, retired security personnel and civil society advises on community-oriented solutions. A Special Adviser oversees the Community Watch Corps, and a Senior Special Assistant handles the welfare, resettlement and psychosocial support of victims of banditry and displaced people.
The magazine describes a dual approach: kinetic operations alongside community-based, intelligence-led and developmental measures.
