Simultaneous town halls in every ward collected citizens' priorities to shape the 2026 state budget.

Wards consulted

In August 2025 the state flagged off ward-level town hall meetings in all 361 electoral wards to assess needs and collect citizens' demands for the 2026 budget. The flag-off held in Kankara, the Deputy Governor's home ward, where Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe represented the Governor.

The Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and the Community Development Programme ran the meetings together. The most senior public officer in each ward chaired its meeting, and ward reports fed directly into budget planning.
