The Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA) was repositioned to widen access to affordable transport. A modern terminal was built at Dandagoro on the Katsina–Kano corridor (₦174.31 million), and 61 Toyota Hiace buses (₦956.15 million) expanded route coverage.
Substations in Daura, Funtua and Dutsin-Ma were rehabilitated and new ones built in Mashi and Ingawa. Tracking and speed-limiting devices (₦15.67 million) and 15 desktop systems were installed, and staff were trained, which the magazine says sharply reduced accidents.
To soften the impact of fuel subsidy removal, the magazine's welfare section separately reports 60 buses deployed for subsidised public transport.
