State DDR, Peace and Security Committee
Katsina was selected as a pilot state for the national disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration framework, in recognition of its community-driven approach to security.
In May 2026 Governor Radda inaugurated the State Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR), Peace and Security Committee under the Office of the National Security Adviser.
The national framework was developed by the National Counter Terrorism Centre with the UK-funded SPRING programme. The governor said Katsina was chosen as a pilot state because of its community engagement and non-kinetic security strategies. The committee is chaired by the Secretary to the State Government and includes the Community Watch Corps commandant, security agencies and the emirates.
