Green Public Procurement Executive Order
Tree planting is now compulsory in every government road and building project, and in building permit applications.
In January 2026 the State Executive Council approved implementation of the Katsina State Green Public Procurement Executive Order, 2025.
The order mandates environmental sustainability measures in public procurement, including compulsory tree planting in all government road and building construction projects and in building permit applications. At the same meeting the council approved digitalising procurement and contract award processes.
