Cassava and gari processing centre in Batsari
Commissioned in July 2026 to add value to cassava, reduce post-harvest losses and create jobs, especially for women and young people.
Governor Radda commissioned the Cassava/Gari Processing Centre in Batsari LGA in July 2026 and named it after the late Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Dr Abba Sayyadi Ruma.
The centre is meant to give cassava farmers a reliable market, cut post-harvest losses, raise household incomes and ease the burden of traditional processing, much of which is done by women.
