New pump house at Ajiwa Water Works

Contract awarded in May 2026 to restore pumping capacity and boost water supply to Katsina metropolis.

The State Executive Council awarded a contract to complete the new Modern Pump House and associated works at Ajiwa Water Works, to restore pumping capacity and boost water supply to Katsina metropolis and surrounding communities.

New pumping systems, valves and a 7.5 MVA transformer had already been installed at the Ajiwa Water Treatment Plant, and a renewable-energy supply component was procured from Germany.
