Second-batch trainees

In May 2026 the State Executive Council enrolled an additional 361 trainees in the second batch of the scheme at the Makera Songhai Training Centre, Dutsin-Ma. Trainees learn integrated agricultural systems, crop and livestock production, aquaculture, agro-processing and agribusiness.

The scheme follows the resuscitation of the long-moribund Songhai Farm Centre at Makera, repositioned as a hub for integrated farming, innovation and skills. The power department lists 201 solar security lights installed at the Songhai farm in Dutsin-Ma.
