Flag-off of the Kadanya–Kunduru–Radda–Yana road

Today marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to the development and betterment of our beloved Katsina State. It is a great honour to stand before you at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kadanya-Kunduru-Radda-Yana Road, including the spur route to Majen Waya spanning 54.7 kilometres at the cost of 36.25 billion, with a completion period of 18 months and 40% mobilization had already been paid to the Contractor. This project is not just a road; it symbolizes hope, progress, and the promise of a brighter future for our communities.

As we gather here today, we acknowledge the challenges that have long plagued this area. The existing conditions of this virgin road are not just an inconvenience; they have hindered economic activities, restricted access to education and healthcare, and limited the movement of goods and services. The numerous gully erosions that have developed over time poses additional risks to the safety and wellbeing of our citizens, and it is our duty to address these pressing issues.

This road will serve as a vital link between our communities, improving transportation and accessibility to market centres, schools, and health facilities. It will facilitate the movement of agricultural produce from our hardworking farmers, thus enhancing trade and economic growth in the region. By investing in this essential infrastructure, we are laying the groundwork for sustainable development and fostering opportunities for our youth and future generations.

Let me take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Katsina State Government for prioritizing the construction of this road. I would also like to commend the efforts of Ministry of works, Housing and Transport, Consultant, Contractor; M/S Stantech Engineering Nigeria Limited, and everyone involved in this endeavour. Your dedication and hard work are crucial to bringing this vision to life.

As we embark on this journey together, I urge our communities to take ownership of this project. It is vital that we protect and maintain this road once completed. A sense of community pride coupled with our collective responsibility will ensure that we reap the benefits of this investment for many years to come.

In conclusion, I assure you that the present administration remains steadfast in its commitment to improving the lives of our people through infrastructure development and social investment. The Kadanya-Kunduru-Radda-Yana Road is just the beginning of many more projects aimed at uplifting our communities.
