In May 2026 Governor Radda flagged off the second disbursement of School Improvement Grants worth ₦6,116,343,477 to 110 schools.

The grants pay for additional classrooms, renovation of dilapidated buildings, gender-sensitive toilets and safe drinking water, in line with UBEC minimum standards. A monitoring committee that includes anti-corruption agencies oversees spending.

The governor said the TESS project has also trained 28,000 teachers in structured pedagogy, provided digital tablets to teachers, installed CCTV in 130 schools and supplied learning materials for children with special needs.
