New ministries and agencies built to deliver Building Your Future
Restructured ministries, new delivery agencies and two oversight bodies to keep projects on track.
Months after taking office, Governor Radda began restructuring government. The Ministry of Lands and Survey became the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning. Education was split into a Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and a new Ministry of Higher, Vocational and Technical Education. Agriculture became the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Rural Development became Rural and Social Development, and the Department of Youth Development became the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.
New delivery bodies include the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, the Community Watch Corps, the Directorate of ICT, the Office of the Economic Adviser, KASEDA for small businesses, the Irrigation Development Authority, the Erosion and Watershed Management Agency, the Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, and a standalone State Secretariat of Climate Change.
For accountability, the Fiscal Responsibility Commission and HISBAH Board were formally established, and two oversight bodies track delivery: the Katsina State Development Management Board (KTDMB) and the Strategic Policy Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Department (SPIME). A Public Service Administration Reform Department is modernising the civil service.
