To ease food insecurity, the State Government bought 95,000 bags of assorted grains and the 34 local governments 72,000 more. 40,000 bags of 50 kg rice were distributed as palliatives, and 37,000 vulnerable households received cash stipends.
During Ramadan, feeding centres in all 361 wards served 200 people a day throughout the fast.
The state also began harmonising and validating the Katsina State Social Register of poor and vulnerable households in every LGA, to improve targeting and accountability.
