Disbursement of 2024/2025 bursaries and awards

It is with immense joy and profound gratitude to Almighty Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, that I stand before you today to officially flag off the disbursement of the 2024/2025 Bursary and Award Scheme, a critical intervention by this administration to empower our children through education.

Today is not just another administrative event. It is a celebration of hope. A reaffirmation of our commitment to invest in human capital. And a solemn promise to every child in Katsina State regardless of your background, your location, or your family’s economic status that your education matters to us, and we will do everything within our power to ensure you succeed.

To the Chairman and members of the Katsina State Scholarship Board thank you for your diligence, transparency, and unwavering dedication. You have worked tirelessly to ensure that this year’s disbursement is more efficient, more inclusive, and more impactful than ever before. Your professionalism reflects the integrity of this government’s vision for education.

To the parents and guardians here today your sacrifices are seen. Your prayers are heard. We understand the weight you carry the late nights, the early mornings, the difficult choices made to keep your children in school. This bursary is not just financial support — it is an acknowledgment of your resilience, and a tool to ease your burden.

And to our students — the brilliant minds, the dreamers, the achievers — this is your moment. Whether you are receiving a bursary for primary, secondary, or tertiary education; whether you are being honoured with an award for academic excellence, sports, or community service — know this: you are valued. You are worthy. And you are capable of greatness.

This administration believes that education is not a privilege, it is a right. That is why we have prioritized funding for scholarships, even amidst competing demands on our budget. The 2024/2025 Bursary and Awards Scheme is designed to reach students across all 34 Local Government Areas from urban centres to remote villages. We have ensured that no deserving student is left behind.
