Dan Amana Solidarity Forum

Speech by the Governor

As prepared for delivery. The words spoken on the day may differ slightly.

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

It is with profound gratitude to Almighty Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, that I stand before you today on this joyous occasion, not merely as your Governor, but as a fellow son of Katsina, deeply invested in the welfare and dignity of every single citizen.

Today’s event “Bada Tallafin Kudi ga Masu Bukata ta Musamman Guda 680 Wanda Suka Fito Daga LGA 34 a Fadin Jihad Katsina” is not just another programme on our calendar. It is a sacred covenant between the government and the people, a promise fulfilled, a commitment honoured, and a testimony to our collective resolve to leave no one behind.

Let me begin by commending the Dan Amana Solidarity Forum, under the dynamic leadership of Hajia Rukayya Umar Radda, for their unwavering dedication to the vulnerable. Your work is not charity — it is justice. It is the embodiment of our Islamic values: compassion, equity, and solidarity. You have turned empathy into action, and your efforts are a beacon of hope for thousands across our state.

To the 680 beneficiaries - men, women, and children who have endured hardship, displacement, and loss — know this: you are not forgotten. The Government of Katsina State sees you. We hear you. And we are here to walk with you, step by step, until peace, stability, and prosperity return to your lives.

This gesture — the distribution of cash support — is not a handout. It is an investment in human dignity. It is a lifeline to help you rebuild your homes, send your children back to school, restart your small businesses, and restore your sense of security.

I want to acknowledge the critical role played by the Gwagware Foundation, led by the Honourable Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Aliyu Musawa. Your partnership with the state government exemplifies what true public-private collaboration looks like. Together, we are building a safety net that catches those who fall not to leave them there, but to lift them up.

And to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura thank you for your steadfast support and legislative backing of our social intervention programmes. Your presence today reaffirms that the entire machinery of government stands united in serving the people.

Let me also take this moment to address the broader context. The challenges we face insecurity, displacement, economic hardship are complex and multi-dimensional. But they are not insurmountable. We are tackling them head-on through:

  • Strengthened security operations in collaboration with our federal partners;
  • Community-based peace building initiatives;
  • Economic empowerment programmes targeting youth and women;
  • And now, direct humanitarian interventions like this one.

This is not the end — it is the beginning of a new chapter. We will continue to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and ensure that no community, no family, no individual is left out of the circle of care.

Finally, I call upon all stakeholders — traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society, private sector, and our generous citizens — to join hands with us. Solidarity is not a slogan; it is a duty. Let us multiply these acts of kindness, let us sustain them, and let us make them a permanent feature of our governance.

May Allah reward the donors, strengthen the recipients, guide our leaders, and grant peace and prosperity to the entire State of Katsina.

Thank you. God bless Katsina State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Wassalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
