Commissioning of the dualised Kofar Soro township road

Speech by the Governor

As prepared for delivery. The words spoken on the day may differ slightly.

It is with immense gratitude to the Almighty Allah that I stand before you today, on this significant occasion of inaugurating the Dualization of Kofar Soro Township Road, with the spur route at CPS at the contract sum of 3.53 billion naira. This moment not only marks a milestone in our administration’s commitment to infrastructural development but also embodies our ‘Building Your Future Agenda’, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for every resident of Katsina State.

The relevance of road infrastructure in any society cannot be overstated. It is the backbone of connectivity, the pathway to economic prosperity, and the bridge that unites our communities. The dualization of this 1.25 kilometre Kofar Soro Township Road, alongside the 200-meter spur route at CPS, is a testimony of our administration’s relentless pursuit in building not just roads, but the very foundation of development, progress, and unity.

This road is not merely a stretch of asphalt; it is an artery that will facilitate trade, improve access to essential services, and foster economic activities. It will ease the movement of people, transport our agricultural produce to markets, enable students to reach their schools efficiently, and ensure that our healthcare facilities are easily accessible. This is an essential component of our urban renewal projects, which aims to revitalize our towns, making them not just places to live, but thriving centres of opportunity.

As we commission this project today, I want to recognize that it forms part of a broader vision, a vision where every part of our state is given the attention it deserves. We are committed to ensuring that no area is left behind. The dualization of the Kofar Soro Township Road is just one of many projects aimed at enhancing our state’s infrastructure and, by extension, the lives of our people.

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Ministry of Works, Housing and transport, Consultant and Contractor; Mothercat Nigeria Limited, who have contributed their time and expertise. Your hard work and commitment have made today’s commissioning a reality.

As we continue on this path of development, I urge all of you to collaborate and support these efforts. Development is a collective responsibility, and together, we can transform Katsina State into a beacon of progress and prosperity.

In conclusion, let me reiterate that our administration remains steadfast in its mission. We will continue to build roads, schools, hospitals, and other critical infrastructures that will shape a brighter tomorrow. The ‘Building Your Future Agenda’ does not just stop here; it is a continuous journey striving towards sustainable development, inclusivity, and empowerment for all.

Thank you all for being here today, and may God bless us all.

Long live Katsina State, Long live Nigeria.
