Katsina named best state in Nigeria for TESS, wins $12.18 million

UBEC ranked Katsina first in the World Bank-backed education project, ahead of Oyo and Adamawa.

Katsina State has been ranked overall best in Nigeria for implementing the BESDA-AF Transforming Education Systems at State Level (TESS) project, securing $12.18 million (₦18.7 billion), the highest reward nationwide.

The Universal Basic Education Commission announced the result in Abuja, citing transparency, integrity in project delivery, adherence to World Bank guidelines and qualified personnel. SUBEB's Executive Chairman called it "a victory for the people of Katsina State".
