It is with immense pride and a profound sense of responsibility that I welcome you all to Katsina State for this landmark event: the launch of the State-by-State “Renewed Hope Homeownership and Housing Development Campaign.”
Katsina State is honored to be the pioneering host of this critical national initiative. By choosing to invest here, you are not just investing in bricks and mortar; you are investing in the dreams, dignity, and future of our people.
Housing is not merely a physical structure; it is the foundation of family life, economic stability, and social progress. For too long, access to decent, affordable housing has remained a distant dream for many of our citizens. This campaign is our collective declaration that we will turn that tide.
As your Governor, I am committed to ensuring that Katsina State seizes this historic opportunity. The benefits outlined in our hosting agreement are not just perks; they are powerful tools for transformation.
Firstly, we will leverage the technical support and policy alignment offered by the Federal Ministry and industry experts. We will review and refine our State Housing Development Plan to ensure it is not only ambitious but also practical, sustainable, and perfectly aligned with national reforms. We will tackle critical issues like urban regeneration, land titling, and slum upgrading head-on, embedding a dedicated Housing Reform Champion within our administration to drive this agenda.
Secondly, this campaign offers Katsina State unparalleled visibility. We will showcase our achievements, our potential, and our unwavering commitment to progress on a national stage. This elevated profile is not for vanity; it is to attract the private sector partnerships and global technical assistance we need to build the Katsina of our dreams.
Thirdly, and most importantly, this is about empowering our citizens. Through public sensitization drives, onsite registration for federal housing schemes, and the distribution of vital resource materials, we will bring the message of hope directly to our people. Whether it’s understanding mortgage options, exploring rent-to-own schemes, or forming housing cooperatives, our citizens will be equipped with the knowledge to claim their right to a home.
We are also deeply committed to building the capacity of our institutions. Our officials will undergo rigorous training in structuring Public-Private Partnerships and implementing housing reforms. We will forge strategic alliances and sign MoUs with key institutions like FMBN, NMRC, and Shelter Afrique to ensure this momentum is sustained long after the campaign leaves our shores.
Ladies and Gentlemen, leadership is about taking bold steps. By hosting this event, Katsina State is taking such a step. I am personally honored to deliver the keynote address at the Executive Session and to stand before you as a committed partner in this national endeavor.
I accept, in advance, the National Plaque as a “Champion of Housing Reform” not as a personal accolade, but as a symbol of Katsina State’s collective resolve. This documentary being filmed here will not just feature me; it will feature the resilience of our people and the boundless potential of our state.
Let this campaign be the spark that ignites a housing revolution in Katsina. Let us build not just houses, but communities. Not just shelters, but homes filled with hope, opportunity, and renewed pride.
Thank you, and may God bless Katsina State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
