It gives me great pleasure and a deep sense of fulfillment to be with you today at this graduation and empowerment ceremony for our adolescent girls who have successfully completed their training at the Skills Acquisition Centres in Katsina, Kaita, Funtua, Matazu, Charanchi, Dutsi, Baure, Kurfi, and Mani.
Today is more than a celebration of graduation. It is a celebration of hope, opportunity, and the future of Katsina State. When we invest in our girls, we invest in families, communities, and generations yet unborn.
From the onset of this administration, we made a deliberate commitment to building the future of every citizen of Katsina State without discrimination.
Our vision is clear. No child, especially the girl child, should be denied education, skills, or opportunity due to circumstance or background. Empowering girls is not just a social responsibility; it is a strategic investment in sustainable development.
The Skills Acquisition Centres across Katsina, Kaita, Funtua, Matazu, Charanchi, Dutsi, Baure, Kurfi, and Mani were established and strengthened to ensure that our girls acquire practical skills that lead to self-reliance, dignity of labour, and economic independence.
I am particularly pleased that today, in addition to certificates, our graduands are receiving empowerment kits to support their transition from training to productivity. This is intentional. Training without tools limits impact. We want our girls to leave here prepared, confident, and equipped to begin their journey immediately.
I urge you, dear graduands, to use these empowerment kits responsibly, creatively, and productively. Let them be the foundation of your livelihoods and a source of pride to your families and communities.
I am also encouraged by the growing collaboration between government and the private sector. I have been informed that through strategic partnerships initiated by the Department of Girl Child Education and Child Development, a reputable company in the state, “Green House”, has committed to recruiting 300 of our graduands into various trades. This partnership will provide advanced internship opportunities while allowing the girls to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the company.
Let me commend the Special Adviser and the entire Department of Girl Child Education and Child Development for their dedication, innovation, and passion in delivering this impactful programme. Their work continues to translate policy into real and measurable outcomes.
To our parents and guardians, thank you for believing in your daughters. To our partners and instructors, your commitment and support are deeply appreciated. To our graduands, you are the pride of Katsina State and ambassadors of a brighter future.
Let me reaffirm my firm commitment to creating an enabling environment where every citizen can thrive. Together, we shall continue to build a Katsina State where opportunity is shared, talent is nurtured, and no one is left behind.
May Allah guide and bless you all. May He continue to bless Katsina State.
Thank you very much.
