Today is a day of immense joy and pride as we gather to celebrate the culmination of hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of knowledge. I stand before you as a governor filled with pride, witnessing the graduation of 500 empowered young women from the Skills Acquisition Center of the Department of Girl Child Education and Child Development.
This momentous occasion is a reflection of our commitment to the empowerment and upliftment of every citizen in Katsina State. Today's achievements are not merely about certificates and skills; they symbolize the fulfillment of a promise made to the young women of our state—that every dream is valid, every aspiration attainable, and every skill acquired is a stepping stone towards a brighter future.
Under the blueprint of our administration, we envisioned a Katsina State where the welfare of all citizens is a top priority. The establishment of the Skills Acquisition Center under the Department of Girl Child Education and Child Development is a concrete manifestation of this commitment. Our goal was clear—to equip our girl child population with diverse skills that would not only enhance their personal development but also contribute to the overall prosperity of our great state.
Today, we celebrate the fruits of strategic planning, tireless efforts, and the invaluable support of the Department of Girl Child Education and Child Development. This has lead to graduation of 141 participants on Tailoring, 113 on leather work, 53 on catering, 27 on computer skills, 90 on cosmetology and 76 on knitting. I commend the dedicated team for their commitment to excellence and their relentless pursuit of a brighter future for our girls.
To the 500 graduates, you are the embodiment of resilience and determination. Your acquisition of skills in catering, knitting, sewing, computer literacy, jewelry making, shoe, and bag production is not just a personal accomplishment but a contribution to the economic and social development of our state. Each skill you have acquired is a tool that empowers you to shape your destiny and make a positive impact on the world around you.
As you step out into the world, remember that the knowledge and skills you possess are powerful instruments of change. Be courageous in the pursuit of your dreams, and let your accomplishments be a beacon of inspiration for others.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the parents, guardians, and well-wishers who have supported these young women on their educational journey. Your encouragement has played a pivotal role in their success, and I urge you to continue being pillars of support as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. In conclusion, let me reiterate my commitment to the continued development and welfare of our girl child population. The Skills Acquisition Center is just the beginning, and we will strive to create more opportunities for education, empowerment, and progress.
Congratulations to the graduates! May your skills be a source of pride, prosperity, and positive change for yourselves and our beloved Katsina State.
Thank you, and God bless you all.
