Flag-off of the Gozaki–Layin Baushe rural road

Honorable Members of the State House of Assembly,

Honorable Commissioners here,

Secretary to the Government of Katsina State,

Party Leaders and Chieftains

Traditional Rulers,

Distinguished Guests,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I must begin this speech by expressing my joy and happiness that the communities of Gozaki to Layin Baushe have been penciled down as one of those to benefit from this gigantic project been undertaken by the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

Government deliberately chose this particular area as one of the beneficiaries of RAAMP activities due to its strategic nature in terms of the economic and social activities. In addition, the administration is quite aware of the agricultural potentials this area possesses, hence the resolve to cite the project.

Communities of this area are very industrious, hardworking and skilled as such government will continue to open up road networks that will boost your economic and social activities for maximum benefit

Ladies and gentlemen, permit me to recall that we have resolved to ensure that every community in the length and breadth of Katsina State will see the presence of government through the execution of viable projects.

It is therefore, not out of point to renew my appeal to all our communities that government will not tolerate the vandalisation of projects meant to enhance the lives of the people. Therefore no one should be allowed to vandalize or misuse any government project.

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, rural infrastructure and urban renewal programs are key components of the policies of this administration. It is therefore, the resolve of this government to ensure that each and every community is carried along in this regard.

We will therefore continue to give adequate attention to this policy so that no section of any area is left behind. I must therefore appeal to you for more patience and understanding so that together we will reach our goals and destination.

This administration is quite aware of the needs of the people especially those in the rural areas, therefore the citing of this project is not a misplacement of priority as such impressive developments would reach the door steps of every area or part of the state.

There is another road Kafur-Yarkadanya whose contract will soon be awarded by RAAMP. This is therefore intended to open up the community by creating interconnectivity, and the boosting of the economy effectively.

Road developments in particular boost economic activities and remove the burden of transporting farm produce, other goods and services.

To the benefitting communities, ensure the protection of this noble project when it is finally completed as this will enable the government to bring more projects to you for your own benefit.

I appreciate the role of the Federal government and our international development partners and all other stakeholders for assisting our communities in improving the quality of their lives.
