Jawabin Gwamna

Kamar yadda aka shirya gabatar da shi. Kalmomin da aka faɗa a ranar na iya ɗan bambanta.

I am profoundly honoured to stand before you today on this momentous occasion as we officially flag-off the Empowerment Programme for Widows and Less Privilege Women across the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State. This event marks a significant milestone in our administration’s determined efforts to enhance the social and economic welfare of our people, particularly the most vulnerable among us our cherished widows and less privilege women.

The empowerment of widows and less privilege women is not only a moral duty but a social responsibility that our government takes very seriously. We recognize the difficult circumstances many of these women find themselves in, having lost their husbands and primary providers. We understand the numerous challenges they face in their daily lives, from economic hardship to social exclusion. Therefore, this programme is aimed at restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity to our widows, enabling them to thrive and contribute positively to the growth and development of our dear state.

Today, we are launching this empowerment initiative with the distribution of resources and support to 840 women from four Local Government Areas, namely:

  • 200 women from Batagarawa
  • 200 women from Kaita
  • 240 women from Katsina
  • 200 women from Rimi

Let me assure everyone here today that the remaining Local Governments will be covered subsequently, ensuring that all intended beneficiaries across the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State are duly reached. This comprehensive empowerment programme targets a total of 7,220 widows and less privilege women, providing them with a bag if 25kg Rice and a stipend of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only to rebuild their lives and achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Ladies and gentlemen, our administration believes that true empowerment is not merely the provision of financial resources but also the creation of sustainable opportunities that will enable beneficiaries to uplift themselves and their families. To this end, we have designed this initiative to go beyond temporary relief.

I want to take this opportunity to commend all stakeholders who have contributed to the success of this initiative, particularly the various Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Special Duties, Ministry of Women Affairs as well as Community Development Programme Office that have been working tirelessly to ensure the proper implementation of this programme. Your dedication and commitment are truly commendable, and we appreciate your efforts immensely.

To our esteemed beneficiaries, I urge you to make the most of this opportunity. The resources and support you receive today should be used wisely to improve your livelihoods and the well-being of your families. Our administration is ready and willing to continue supporting you to achieve lasting success.

This empowerment programme is just one of the many initiatives we are implementing to reduce poverty, promote inclusivity, and enhance the quality of life for all our citizens. We are determined to build a Katsina State where no one is left behind, where every citizen, regardless of their background or circumstance, is given the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

As we proceed with this programme, I assure you of our government’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of our people. We will continue to develop policies and implement programmes that will uplift the vulnerable and empower our people to realize their full potential.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone present here today for joining us in this historic moment. To the beneficiaries, I congratulate you on this well-deserved support. May Allah bless your efforts and grant you success in all your endeavors.

Thank you, and May God bless the good people of Katsina State.
