It is with great pleasure and immense gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWA) that I address you today, on the auspicious occasion of November 7th, 2024. To Him alone belong all power and glory. With deep gratitude, I acknowledge the favour that has granted us this opportunity to witness and participate in the commissioning of Bawo College of Nursing Sciences, Daura.

I commend the outstanding vision and efforts of the Executive Chairman/Promoter of this institution, Dr. Ibrahim Isaka, for his His commitment and innovative thinking to have brought forth this noble initiative and establish a premier health tertiary institution. Under his leadership and through his charity foundation, Bawo College of Nursing Sciences has been built and equipped to meet the highest standards, earning certification and accreditation by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. The College has received a substantial admission quota from its inception, which aligns with our administration's agenda for advancing education and healthcare in Katsina State. By training a new generation of professional nurses and midwives, this institution is directly contributing to our goals for a healthier and more educated society.

My administration has placed tremendous focus on the education and health sectors, recognizing their critical role in driving sustainable development. Many transformative projects in these fields have received my full support. Notably, I have approved the conversion of the Psychiatric Hospital in katsina into a female hostel, along with additional classrooms for the School of Nursing katsina. Furthermore, I have sanctioned the sum of One Billion Naira (₦1,000,000,000) for the construction of a permanent headquarters for the Katsina State College of Nursing and Midwifery, featuring new structures and expanded facilities. Additionally, we have authorized the complete rehabilitation of the School of Midwifery in Malumfashi, along with the construction of an additional 280-bed female hostel.

Similarly, I have approved the allocation of ₦100,000,000 (One Hundred Million Naira) only for the construction of a new female hostel at Kankia Iro School of Health Technology, Kankia, and another ₦100,000,000 (One Hundred Million Naira) only for the construction of additional offices and classrooms at Sani Zangon Daura School of Health Technology, Daura. Our commitment to strengthening these institutions is unwavering, as demonstrated by the provision of state-of-the-art equipment and learning facilities for our four health tertiary institutions in Katsina, Daura, Malumfashi, and Kankia. These investments reflect our determination to uphold international standards in education and healthcare delivery.

In furthering my vision to reform the health sector, I have upgraded several primary healthcare facilities to general hospitals, including those in Faskari, Dandume, Kafur, Charanchi, and Zango. Additionally, I have established and equipped a modern dialysis centre at Amadi Rimi Orthopaedic Hospital and have approved the construction of an ultra-modern medical imaging centre at the same facility—a project of unique significance in Nigeria.

Our commitment to educational excellence extends beyond our borders, as evidenced by our recent sponsorship of students for international studies in diverse fields, such as MBBS, Bio-technology and artificial intelligence. Today, another cohort of students will receive scholarship awards under the Governor’s Scholarship Program and Alhaji Isaka Haroon Charity Foundation to pursue studies in basic midwifery. This investment in our youth is a crucial part of our strategy to build a skilled workforce that will support the growth and prosperity of Katsina State and beyond.

In conclusion, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the governing council, management, faculty members, staff, and students of Bawo College of Nursing Sciences, Daura. May your academic journey be successful, and may this institution continue to produce professionals who will serve with distinction and dedication.

May Allah bless Bawo College of Nursing Sciences, Daura. May Allah bless Katsina State. May Allah bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Thank you, and may God bless us all.
